Description

Highway Structures are maintained by local highway authorities as part of their statutory obligation to maintain public highways as set out in the Highways Act 1980.

Undertaking regular planned inspections of Highway Structures assets is one of the ways by which highway authorities fulfil their duties and responsibilities to help ensure that these vital assets continue to be safe for use and fit for purpose. Manchester City Council consider these inspections to be a vital part of their highway structures asset management process.
