Description

The project is the carrying out of Enabling Works to the sites of the proposed future Newstead General Needs (GN) and Newstead Older Persons Independent Living (OPIL) projects. The scope of the Enabling works is:\r
• Cut and fill and disposal to form appropriate levels for the construction of the proposed future schemes.\r
• Installation of main drainage/sewer runs\r
• Installation of attenuation tank to GN site\r
• Diversions/removal of existing statutory services.\r
\r
The Tenderer's attention is particularly drawn to the following key points:\r
Hoarding around the entire perimeter of the site shall remain in place on completion of the works - ownership of which shall pass to the Employer.\r
The successful contractor shall enter into a Direct Agreement with the Main Contractor(s) for each of the GN and OPIL projects as set out in Clause Z13 of the Contract.\r
Tenderers will be offered the opportunity to attend site during a trial excavation in the vicinity of the underground attenuation tank to the South East corner of the site in order to observe the ground/excavation conditions in this location (See Clause 1.3.12.\r
A Public Right of Way (PROW) runs through the site on a North to South axis. A temporary diversion of this PROW will be in place at the commencement of the works for a duration of six months. The diverted route will run around the outside of the proposed site boundary. At the end of the temporary diversion, a revised permanent route may be established; therefore, for the purposes of the tender, the Contractor shall allow for relocating any necessary hoardings to accommodate the permanent route and an item is included in the Bill of Quantities to this effect. (Should an extension of the temporary diversion be obtained, this relocation will be omitted).
