Description

Now in its sixth year and open to young people from anywhere in the UK, the BFI Film Academy offers a real chance for talented 16-19 year olds to develop the specialist filmmaking skills they need to be part of the future of the UK film industry - no matter where they're from or what their background. The BFI Film Academy offers bursaries to help those in need with costs, ensuring it is open to as diverse a range of young people as possible.

The BFI is seeking a production company or freelance filmmaker with whom it can work to create a series of film materials documenting and celebrating the work delivered through the annual BFI Film Academy programme. We are also looking to create a montage showcasing a handful of the films made on the courses.

All outputs will be shown online, at events and through social media.

The proposed audience for this content includes current and future participants of the programme, film industry representatives, and key BFI Film Academy stakeholders, (e.g., BFI board members and senior management, Department for Education supporters). The content will also form part of the BFI's evaluation of the programme by capturing the experiences of the participants and partners.

The successful company/filmmaker will work with the BFI, and the UK-wide delivery partners, to oversee the collation, research, clearances and editing of BFI Film Academy material and the delivery of the final films.

The selected company/filmmaker will be expected to travel to a subset of 48 UK wide film Academies, as part of this project, and for reference, the list of Academies can be found on the following link:
