Description

The primary purpose of this Service is to ensure that the Council and its Virtual School Headteacher have the information required to effectively monitor the attendance, exclusions and progress of an identified group of Children Looked After and intervene as required to improve their educational outcomes by ensuring that:
• Any attendance issues can be addressed swiftly and actions put in place to improve attendance;
• There can be immediate contact with a school if a child is excluded and actions put in place to address issues;
• Action can be planned with the school for children who are not making the expected level of progress and that Pupil Premium Plus grant can be used appropriately to address progress issues;
• The Virtual School Head and the Council have the information required to fulfil the statutory duty to improve educational outcomes for Children Looked After.
