Description
The transient Plane Source (TPS) method of measuring the thermal constants of a sample offers significant advantage over the current method of a transient hot wire. The TPS method offers significant flexibility in terms of sample size and morphology and will allow nanofluids to be tested accurately for thermal conductivity, thermal diffusivity and specific heat capacity all in one measurement without induced thermal currents causing error within the large samples.
The nature of the transient plane heaters allows the TPS system to determine thermal behaviours in anisotropic materials such as graphene.
A wide range of sensor types allow thermal property measurement to be undertaken at a very wide range of temperatures.
TPS is an absolute measure of the thermal properties which does not require a calibration or reference sample.
