Description

Broomfield Village Hall has a car park of approx 60 spaces, the foundation of which is sound and will require resurfacing. A diagram is attached which shows some additional detailing work which will be required to ensure good drainage and security. It is anticipated that the plainings will be reused on nearby sites to improve access road on an allotment site.

On the northern edge of the car park there is a small cut-in where the tarmac skirts round some tree roots. You can see this in the picture looking west. You will see that the car park has been extended by over a metre to the north and if you now go to the view looking east, you will see that the job has not been done very well and the level is sagging. Losing this strip of land would cost a maximum of two parking spaces, so there is an opportunity to make an improvement here. On the picture looking west, you will see some hoops which are supposed to be cycle racks but only ever get used to find out who does not know how to use their mirrors when reversing. I would like a price for putting in a new kerb along the line of the join, and filling the strip between the new kerb and the old, making it slightly higher and using it as a place to install some new and more useful bicycle rests. The old cycle rests can be removed.
