Description

Traditionally, the Fundraising & Enterprise (F&E) team has been raising revenue income (c.18% of BFI's charitable income) from a combination of business partnerships, philanthropy, trusts, events and commercial deals, to support largely budget-relieving activities for the BFI London Film Festival; our year-round cultural programme; the upkeep of the collections in the BFI National Archive; and our education activities.

In 2023 the BFI published an ambitious 10-year strategy Screen Culture 2033 (SC33). The strategy identifies several long-term objectives, all of which are dependent, in different degrees, on additional income, including fundraised and commercial income. This includes plans to grow the BFI's digital platforms, and to make the BFI National Archive the most open collection of its kind in the world. To support the BFI's ambitions, we have recently agreed a new fundraising strategy, focussed on achieving a step change in our fundraising income over a period of three-years plus. This will be shared with those consultants invited to tender.

One of our first priorities is to work with a consultant to review our ways of working across all aspects of our fundraising operation (philanthropy, business partnerships, trusts and fundraising events) and assess and finesse our ambition as we prepare for significant income growth.
