Description

The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.The works are to reconstruct footways and carriageways, with the inclusion of a proposed Bus Gate and contra flow bus lane and road narrowing, including street lighting improvements, signage and drainage improvements and traffic signal improvements, as well as construction of parking bays and the implementation of a one way system and associated works.

Works at Fairfield Rd (area 1) and Bank Street (area 2) St Michaels Lane (area 3) will require works on the public highway.

The objective of the works is to create improvements to the surrounding highway network to facilitate the main Public Realm Works to be let under a separate contract. This works package is the enabling works to facilitate the Public Realm contract, to be let separately.
