BRIC is a project that is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund. BRIC sits within, and is managed by the School of Architecture and the Built Environment and plans ultimately to be sited on the Springfield site in Wolverhampton. The GPR will be used to capture data to support initiatives such as building a brownfield research and knowledge bank for the Black Country, supporting industrial collaborations around brownfield or refurbishment projects, and general business engagement for the Brownfield Research and Innovation Centre (BRIC).

The GPR must be multi-frequency (at least three, 12.5MHz-2GHz), be capable of processing large data sets, with the ability to export data to appropriate software packages. Accessories must include rugged carrying case, additional rechargeable batteries and a charger.
