Other additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
The appointment of a contractor to perform miscellaneous building works at West Smithfield in connection with the planned move of the Museum of London from its current home at London Wall.

Anticipated works include extensive strip out, asbestos removal, cast iron works, roof and façade repair and conservation, upper floor structural repairs, basement opening up and brickwork cleaning.

Division into Lots is not felt appropriate in the case given the nature of the site and the resources available to the Contracting Authority for project management. It is also felt that the appointment of a single main contractor will deliver the best value for money in this instance.
