Description

Northumbria University are seeking expressions of interest for a project to install a large solar PV array on the roof of Northumberland Building on City Campus Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 8ST (please refer to aerial photograph on page 2 of the document attached to the SQ).

Our estimates are that the space could accommodate an array of approximately 80kW. Our requirement is that the array should be able to payback in a period of approximately 8 years (based on costs inclusive of VAT and price of 17p/kWh for electricity).

The contract would include all elements of the installation and commissioning, including structural survey.

Timescales are still being examined, but we hope the tender will be issued by 28th June, with completion of the installation by 30th October 2019.

Interested parties should supply two case studies of similar installations, one of which should be on an educational building. These case studies should be uploaded and submitted in response to the SQ associated with this Contracts Notice via the Universities E-tendering platform Delta by no later than 12 noon Tuesday 25th June 2019 (Delta SQ access code is 7E9X8VVM55). Please note, new Delta suppliers are requested to register and publish their supplier profile on Delta in order to respond to this contract opportunity. Should you have any issues at all during the registration or response process, please contact Delta support:

General Enquiries - 0113 3443957
Technical Enquiries - 0845 270 7050
admin.neupc@leeds.ac.uk

Any general queries regarding this project should be raised via the Delta message centre associated with this SQ.
Post case study submissions, an internal shortlisting exercise will be undertaken by key university stakeholders to identify a suitable range of up to 6 contractors to invite to tender (ITT) on or around 28th June 2019. Those contractors will be contacted in advance of tender publication and advised of the relevant Delta ITT access code.
