Description

West Lancashire Borough Council invites applicants to quote for works at Elmers Clough. The works will be undertaken for the Ranger Service which sits within the Wellbeing and Place Department.

The purpose of this project is to ensure the works carried out improve the accessibility to Elmers Clough and improve existing paths, bridges and steps. Access improvements should increase site usage and reduce antisocial behaviour such as fly tipping. Community engagement is key to the success of this project and local school children will play their part in completing an anti-littering campaign. Additionally, by improving the old outdoor classroom we will enable outdoor learning and the mental, social and physical benefits this provides. Once access works have been complete, a nature trail will be installed in the clough to engage the local community with the natural environment.
