Description

The University wishes to appoint a suitable Contractor to provide planned and reactive maintenance, and repairs on its emergency lighting systems installed within its properties to an agreed plan and programme:
• to ensure compliance with all relevant guidance, legislation and University Policy and Procedures;
• so that they operate at all times in accordance with the required operating criteria;
• to ensure proper operation of the system is maintained, thus minimising the risk of loss of service from the plant so optimising its economic life.

The emergency lighting system installed across the University can be categorised into two main types; self-contained and externally powered.
The Central Battery/Static Inverters and its associated components and ancillary systems shall at all material times operate to ensure emergency lighting is provided promptly, automatically and for a suitable time in a specified area when the power supply to the normal lighting fails.
Following Contract award, the successful Contractor will undertake the defined validation of the emergency lighting systems across the University estate. Additional systems identified and installed will be added to the asset register and the appropriate adjustments made. The Contractor will maintain the asset register and provide an electronic copy to the University annually.

The period of the contract is for 12 months with options to extend for a further 3 periods of 12 months by mutual agreement.
