Description
Based on the Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD), Greenwich is now ranked as the 78th most deprived of 326 England boroughs (1 being the most deprived, and 326 least deprived). It is widely acknowledged that there is a strong link between social deprivation, sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and teenage pregnancy. Improving the sexual health of the population of Royal Greenwich therefore continues to remain a vital public health priority.
The Royal Borough of Greenwich (RBG) is reorganising their sexual health services in the borough with the continuing aim to provide an integrated model of service delivery with easy access to confidential, non-judgemental sexual health services (including for STIs , contraception, abortion, health promotion and prevention). Through this programme of work we are aiming to increase the recognition, availability and accessibility of our sexual health services across the borough. Therefore we are tendering the Contraceptive and Sexual Health Clinic (CASH) service in order to further improve the sexual health and well-being of our residents.
The CASH Service will ultimately provide a single-site open access clinic providing non-judgemental up-to-date, comprehensive and relevant sexual health service with information provided by appropriately skilled staff. With an aim to reduce sexual health inequalities in relation to the epidemiology of STIs and HIV, the service will provide improved access to sexual health services among those at highest risk of sexual ill health including gay and bisexual men, African communities, young people and those with a history of previous infection.
Working closely with both the Genito-Urinary Medicine (GUM) and Greenwich Sexual Health (GSH) Services in the borough, the service will offer both Level 1 and 2 testing and treatment for STIs with formally agreed protocols for onward referral of complicated (Level 3) STIs to the GUM clinic in Greenwich. It will be essential to ensure that from the patient's perspective there is a seamlessly integrated sexual health pathway with common and consistent standards. The service will also offer the full range of Level 1, 2 and 3 contraceptive services.
The period of contract will be 3 years with an option to extend for a further 2 years. The maximum period of contract will not exceed 5 years.
The Annual Value is no more than £1,374,675
The 3 yr value is approx. £4,124,025
The 5 yr value is approx. £6,873,375
