Description
The Centre for Process Innovation Ltd (CPI) requires the following;
This tender is for a thermomechanical analyser (TMA) that would be capable of precisely measuring dimensional change in materials as a function of time and temperature to identify phase changes, sintering or softening for example. The instrument must be compatible with measuring a wide range of materials for instance plastics, elastomers, paints, adhesives, composites, glasses, ceramics and metals. The National Formulation Centre works across a wide range of materials from food stuffs to construction materials to microelectronics and as such requires an instrument that offers wide versatility in terms of the types of materials and format that can be analysed. The common experiments will be to determine the coefficients of thermal expansion above and below glass transitions as well as softening points or phase transitions.
