Description

Falmouth Exeter Plus (FXPlus) is looking to appoint a structured cabling supplier on a 36 month fixed term contract to carry out copper and fibre cabling works on, but not limited to, the Falmouth University Campuses at Falmouth (Woodlane, Falmouth) and Penryn (Treliever Road, Penryn).
It is essential that any supplier that FXPlus form a contract with, is fully proficient in all areas of structured cabling, from the initial site visit to final termination and make good works.
The structured cabling network forms the backbone of the Campuses and therefore it is important that any future design and installation works are not only of the highest quality but maximise value for money.
FXPlus requires a supplier to be reactive to our requirements, sometimes at short notice and work closely with the business at all stages through design, installation and commissioning.
The scope of works will vary, from simple cable faults and investigations to whole building installations so any supplier must be able to undertake works on all common cable types. E.g. UTP / STP, CAT6, 6A, 7 and emerging technologies, SWA CAT6/6A, both blown and tight- buffered fibre solutions, fusion splicing and two wire copper telephony services.
It is important to FXPlus to have consistency and continuity of design throughout these installations to ensure resilience in design and robustness for growth.
The expected scope of works that will be under any contract for the next 36 months are as follows:
• Data Cabling - Copper Cabling (CAT6/6A/7 etc), Cabinet Installations, Fibre Optic Installations (Both Tight-Buffered and Blown) including fusion splicing
• Ducting and catenary works
• Civil Works (Soft dig, onsite roadways)
• Builder works in connection (BWIC) with the cabling works, including 3rd party accredited fire stopping
• Telecoms and Security Cabling
• Wireless Technologies
• Works within the data centres
• Cabling audits
• 'In House' small works to major refurbishment / new build
• Consultancy Services
