Description

The Millennium Cohort Study (MCS) is a nationally unique data source which has collected detailed information on the development and circumstances of approximately 19,000 children since the year 2000 and intends to continue into adulthood. The longitudinal study collects data on a wide range of issues including; child behaviour and cognitive development, parenting, childcare and schooling, health, income, poverty, housing and ethnicity. It also draws information from a wide range of sources including, child, teacher and family surveys, a number of verified screening and assessment tools and links to nationally collected administrative data e.g. educational attainment.

PHE requires proposals to undertake the following research and analysis over three key stages, specifically for the Millennium Cohort of Children from England only.

Stage 1 - In-depth literature review
Stage 2 - Detailed scoping exercise of the MCS variables.
Stage 3 - A multivariate analysis of the Millennium Cohort of Children from England
