Description

The contract covers maintenance and servicing of fire alarms, emergency lighting systems and Fire Fighting Equipment within Authority buildings within the borough of North Tyneside.

The Service shall generally be based on the following: -
(i) Servicing and planned preventive maintenance carried out at frequencies as detailed in this Specification during the Contract Period
(ii) Corrective maintenance required throughout the Contact Period
Specific details are included in the Scope of Works within the tender pack.

Tenderers must be a registered member of BAFE or equivalent to be eligible to apply for this contract.

Successfully awarded Contractors will be required to work together with North Tyneside Council (the Authority) to drive improvements and support the aims and ambitions of the Contract.

Following this tender exercise, it is envisaged that 3 Contractors will be appointed to the Framework, for repairs, servicing and minor replacement installs only. No new installations will be required under this framework.

The awarded position on the Frameworks, known as the rank order, will form the basis of a non-binding call off agreement, whereby all works up to the indicated threshold of £10 Thousand will also be offered to the first ranked Contractor as a Direct Award. A Contractor declining the offered work will then trigger the works to be offered to the Contractor next in rank order as a Direct Award. Any works exceeding £10 Thousand will be deemed as a new installation and will not be required through this Framework.
