Description

Leicester City Council (the Authority), on behalf of Marketing Leicester & Leicestershire, invites quotations from experienced place branding, destination marketing and management consultancies and business tourism specialists for the provision of a Place Brand Strategy, Destination Management Plan and Business Tourism Strategy for Leicester and Leicestershire to aid economic growth in the sub-region.
Overview
It is recognised that for the sub-region to achieve its ambitions in respect of the leisure and business visitor economies, it needs a coherent strategic approach. Currently the City Tourism Forum and district-based tourism partnerships work to their own individual blueprints and action plans, each promoting their own distinctive identities and clusters of attractions. However, if economic growth is to be achieved on the scale that has been proposed, the destination needs to find a strong identity and clear narrative that visitors from outside the sub-region can identify with and feel compelled to explore. It needs a vision that unites and inspires local stakeholders backed by an overarching strategy to direct activity and provide future strategic and tactical direction.
Outcomes
• Increase in value and volume of visitors to the sub-region
• Stimulate sufficient growth in the industry to sustain, expand and improve the quality of jobs in the tourism sector.
The following is an indicative timetable of completion dates for each project. Please note, this is subject to change and as part of your Quotation, you will be asked to devise your own, detailed timetable plan.

Project Deadline
Place Brand Strategy 30.04.2018
Destination Management Plan 31.07.2018
Business Tourism Strategy 31.08.2018
