Description
Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council (BCP Council) seek tenders for painting and repair works to Palmerston Road Footbridge in Bournemouth. Palmerston Rd Footbridge is a bridge owned by BCP Council which crosses the railway line. It is in need of painting and various steelwork and brick repairs.
The successful supplier will be expected to commence the works on 01 August 2019. The supplier will be required to ensure the works are completed by 31 July 2022.
A three year contract duration has been allotted to account for the limited number of track possession available at the time of going to tender.
Works to be completed by 31 March 2020:
• Preparation and painting - the top side areas main girder and railings, which are above the bridge soffit level, can be accessed with provision of a scaffold during normal train operations.
• Inspection and Soffit steelwork repairs - accessible during non-disruptive track possession.
• Removal of invasive vegetation - accessible during non-disruptive track possession.
• Brickwork repairs - accessible during non-disruptive track possession.
Works to be completed by 31 July 2022:
• Preparation and painting of the soffit - due to the difficulties of gaining access to the bridge soffit (Area B), which is likely to require disruptive track possessions.
