Description

This tender consists of two contract opportunities which are being tendered and awarded as one works package. (1) The Ribble Life for Water programme being delivered by the Ribble Rivers Trust is supported by a Water Environment Grant administered by the Environment Agency and funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, aims to improve rivers, fish passage and the water environment in the Ribble catchment through river restoration projects. As such the project is advertising this contract opportunity for the restoration of a natural riverbed at Pendle Water by removing a stretch of concrete lining the river channel and installing bed stabilisation protection. (2) Pendle Borough Council has funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), Lancashire Enterprise Partnership and Lancashire County Council to address significant erosion of the riverbank and riverbed on the downstream bend of the river, below the concrete lined channel including re-profiling, installation of scour protection and bank stabilisation materials.

Although these works are below the thresholds for a full procurement procedure under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 -the clients are still under obligation to ensure compliance with EU principles of transparency, equality and non-discrimination, as such are conducting a formal tender process in which all bidders will be treated equally, with no discrimination and through a transparent process.
