Description

This project will assist Historic England in planning future activity around key commitments within our Corporate Plan and the Government's third National Adaptation Programme. Historic England is working to develop methodologies for understanding the long-term risk to cultural heritage from climate change impacts and to develop resources for owners and managers of heritage assets to help them understand the risks to their assets and consider management options for future climate.

This project is focussed on climate change hazards which are defined as "the potential occurrence of a natural or human-induced physical event or trend that may cause loss of life, injury, or other health impacts, as well as damage and loss to property, infrastructure, livelihoods, service provision, ecosystems and environmental resources" by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (2022).
