Description

The extract kicker system is in place at the Second Target Station at ISIS and includes two 10Hz magnets in order to extract laser beams.

The extract kicker system has been designed entirely around the CX1925X thyratron.

Thyratrons have a finite life and require replacement periodically to ensure operational reliability is maintained. The thyratron is a central component in the Extract Kickers and must be replaced with an identical model as the system is designed around the thyratron itself.
