Description

Infant Feeding Peer Support Programme
NEPO Portal ProContract Ref No: DN 697904
This commission offers an exciting opportunity for contractors to propose a breastfeeding peer support service which is evidence based for families in Hartlepool. The service will support mothers to help them achieve their breastfeeding goal, and support an increase in Hartlepool's breastfeeding prevalence rates at 6-8 weeks.
The Contractor will work collaboratively with key partners who provide infant feeding support including, but not limited to Maternity Service, North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Hospital Trust, Health Visitors, Community Nursery Nurses and Family Hubs to ensure breastfeeding peer support provision is an embedded part of the offer for pregnant women, new mothers, and their families.
This commission will support the local authority in achieving UNICEF Baby Friendly accreditation and work in line with the requirements and recommendations.
Contractors will need to demonstrate that they have the requisite accreditation to deliver a service that is accountable, ethical, professional and personalised, to promote positive feeding experiences for mother and baby.
HBC will commission a supplier to facilitate this programme between 2nd January 2024 - 31st March 2025
