Description

Quotation for Control of Feral Pigeons

The Council has identified an issue with the large number of feral pigeons in West Bromwich town centre. It is intended to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced provider of bird control services to work in partnership with the Council to bring about a sustained reduction in the size of the pigeon population.

The main areas of concern are marked in red on the Appendices to this document as West Bromwich Zones 1, 2 and 3. It is known that members of the public are in the habit of regularly depositing food intended for pigeons within these areas. The Council would retain responsibility for educational and enforcement activities designed to discourage this behaviour.

The contract period would initially run for a period of 12 months from 1 April 2017 with the option to extend by 12 months at the end of the initial contract period.
