Description

High Peak Borough Council wish to appoint a suitably experienced and qualified consultancy to undertake a project to compile a Visitor Economy Strategy, Cultural Heritage Asset review and Destination Management Plan for Buxton, Derbyshire.

Buxton, population of approximately 23,000, is currently being transformed by an extensive programme of public and private sector funded regeneration projects based around its spa town heritage. This is now culminating in the delivery of one of the UK's most ambitious heritage tourism projects - the £50 million, five star hotel and spa in the Grade I listed Georgian Crescent and adjoining spa buildings.
The Town is now at a turning point and 2019 effectively sets a target for Buxton's visitor economy as a whole to be prepared and best equipped to maximise the benefits that the new development should bring to Buxton and the wider Peak District.

The Consultancy will report to the project Steering Group, which incorporates the town's key stakeholders (Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust, Buxton Opera House, the University of Derby, Vision Buxton, Derbyshire County Council and High Peak Borough Council).
This exercise is being managed through the Council's E-tendering system via the West Midlands Improvement and efficiency Procurement portal. To Register an Interest and submit a tender for this opportunity please click on the link below, view current opportunities and select
