Description

Defra wants to ensure that the development of strategy and policy on PPPs draws on the full range of relevant evidence, and that evidence is presented clearly with appropriate explanation about levels of certainty and implications for policy. This research will help Defra to better understand the importance of different sources of evidence on the health impacts of PPPs, for a range of stakeholder groups, including: policy makers, the general public, retailers, health professionals, academics, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and pesticide users. The aim of the research is to map the way that evidence findings are used to inform positions, communications and actions from the diverse stakeholder groups. The research will need to assess the quality, value, limitations of and gaps in existing evidence, and provide recommendations for how best to develop future evidence gathering on health impacts of PPPs.
