Description
The Science Division (SD) of the Health and Safety Executive invites bids for the provision of an Energy Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometer for HSE's Science and Research Centre, Buxton, SK17 9JN.
This equipment is required to enhance the analytical capability of HSE and enable it to meet the requirements of the HSE and other external customers.
This system would be used for the non-destructive analysis of:
• Elements in airborne particulate matter captured on air filter samples e.g., as described in US EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) IO-3.3
• Elements in sedimented powders, fumes, ashes, and dust collected from workplace processes e.g., welding fume.
• Elements in samples submitted by HSE Engineers for forensic analysis e.g., in solid materials such as metallic components/fragments plastics, polymers; in liquids/solvents, in greases/lubricating oils etc.
Note to Tenderers:
Key requirement: To deliver and install the system and establish one HSE method by 26 March 2022
HSE require interested parties to show how their proposed systems could meet such parameters. Where options (if available) are listed, these may either be included in the given price or costed separately, please specify.
