UWE Bristol is committed to an ambitious carbon management plan with a key project in our programme being the installation of a low carbon heat network serving a number of existing and future buildings on Frenchay campus. The installation of the heat network pipework infrastructure commenced in 2016 as part of a wider redevelopment of the \"campus heart-zone\".

UWE Bristol is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified contractor to undertake the supply, installation and commissioning of all heating plant and associated equipment within the Energy Centre, and supply and installation of substation integration equipment within each of the four existing buildings that are to be connected to the network and supplied by the Energy Centre. The existing buildings are the Students Union (SU), FBL, D-Block and SAP 2; the FET building is not yet constructed and so will be connected at a future date and so is outside the scope of these works. The scope of work also includes the sizing, design and installation of electrical connection from the CHP units to the existing LV electrical system on site.

In summary, the works will comprise:

c) Supply, installation and commissioning of 2 x 35,000 litre insulated thermal stores to be located internally within Energy Centre
d) Supply, installation and commissioning of equipment pumps, control valves and all other ancillary equipment as defined in the accompanying drawings and specifications
e) Supply, installation and commissioning of all water treatment/filtration and pressurisation equipment within the Energy Centre
f) Supply, installation and commissioning of heat network distribution pumps within the Energy Centre
g) Supply and installation of a complete exhaust system for the CHP units
h) Supply, installation and commissioning of all equipment (including heat exchangers, pipework, pumps, control valves and heat meters) within the four building substation plant rooms to facilitate connection to the network
i) Supply, installation and commissioning of substations for 4 buildings
j) Integration and connection of the network buildings to the district heating network
k) All works associated with electrical connection of the CHP unit including liaison with electricity supplier & DNO, detailed electrical, installation testing and commissioning and G59 testing and certification
l) Modification and supply, installation and commissioning of BMS systems in energy centre and substations
