Description

Tenderers are invited for the provision of legal support for the procurement project for the Delivery of the Smart Energy Network Demonstrator (SEND). The SEND works procurement is to appoint a contractor to carry out both the design and construction elements of the SEND project under a single-stage design and build contract. It has an estimated value of £7 million.

The University is conducting the SEND works procurement using the Competitive Procedure with Negotiation in accordance with regulation 29 of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (PCRs). The form of contract that the University intends to enter into with the Contractor for the SEND works contract will based on FIDIC Silver Book First Edition 1999 as will be amended in accordance with the University's preferred contractual position.

The SEND project is part funded from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds England Growth Programme 2014-2020 and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). The legal support required for the SEND works procurement is also part funded by ERDF.
