Description
Going Global, an annual conference, focuses on our work in Higher Education and Skills. This open forum brings together 1,300 leaders of tertiary education from more than 80 countries to discuss and debate issues and challenges centred on a yearly theme, with an aim to increase global partnership and networks between universities, students, practitioners and higher education leaders.
Delegates include Heads of state, Government ministers, vice-chancellors and college principals, CEOs from education organisations, policy advisors and the media. Previous conferences have been held in South Africa, Hong Kong, Dubai and the USA.
The UK enjoys a strong global reputation in higher education and is well placed to lead in supporting and creating increased global partnerships and networks. The UK also has an opportunity to learn from other countries' tertiary education systems. In particular, to learn about new models of delivery (in particular, digital), how higher education institutions can collaborate with industry, civil society groups and other organisations, and using higher education institutions to promote social mobility and alternative pedagogical models.
The conference offers an opportunity to:
• shape, inform and influence higher education policy globally through dialogue and sharing information and best practice
• promote and support holistic partnerships and international collaboration that enhance capacity, capability, access and quality in higher education
