Description

Worcestershire has around 16,000 individual public rights of way covering 4,600km. This network, made up of footpaths, bridleways and byways, provides the public with a means of access on foot, horseback, cycle and, on a small number of routes, using motorised vehicles. The network is used mostly for informal recreation but also in some locations, as important means of accessing shops, schools, places of employment and other services.

Worcestershire County Council has the statutory responsibility to ensure that the county's public rights of way network is properly mapped and maintained and the network is unobstructed and available for use by the public. This responsibility is managed by the Public Rights of Way (PROW) Team, working with landowners and occupiers, volunteers, probation service and appointed Service Providers. As part of this work, we need to deliver relevant Public Rights of Way furniture and materials to landowners, volunteers and between storage areas.

Worcestershire is therefore looking to procure a supplier who would be required to deliver materials to landowners, and volunteers and occasionally work sites. The vast majority of this will be within the County of Worcestershire. Due to the rural and remote nature of these sites this may involve needing to drive down un-metaled access roads so the vehicle provided needs to be capable of this, such as a 4x4 pickup and twin axle trailer. Currently the main storage compound is located at Worcester Woods Country Park and a secondary compound is at Lydiate Ash Highway Depot. These locations may be subject to change. Operatives will be required to have a H&S induction for the compounds as well as having a Lone Working Policy and appropriate and relevant insurances .

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A RESTRICTED TENDER TO INVITED BIDDERS ONLY.

Full information on requirements can be located in the Service Specification in the tender pack provided. Please ensure all documentation uploaded is read in full before completion of submission.

Please make sure you 'Express Interest' and then go to 'Opt in' in order to view, upload and complete all relevant questionnaire and documentation

The closing date for all bids to be received will be: 12:00hr Friday 15th December 2023
