Description

The Norfolk Assistance Scheme (NAS) is a Local Welfare Scheme currently funded with round 4 of the DWP Hardship Support Fund and internal funding from Norfolk County Council. A Local Welfare Scheme has been in operation in Norfolk since 2013 - in March 2020 at the beginning of pandemic NAS commenced providing food boxes - this model has continued as a provision during the Cost of Living Crisis to support those in the Norfolk Community suffering food poverty and to divert traffic from the local food banks. The Council is seeking a single provider for parcels and delivery to Norfolk Residents.

Pease note: Norfolk County Council is not guaranteeing how many boxes it will need to procure, this is an as and when requirement.

This procurement will be managed electronically via the Council`s e-procurement system. The contract is until 31st March 2024. If further funding is obtained, then the Council has the discretion to extend the contract by a further 12 month period and then for a further 12 month period after the first extension.

The value of the contract over its life ( including extensions) is an estimate at £1.5m (exclusive of VAT) as how many boxes the authority orders will be dependent on need. Current spend is £30,000 (exclusive of VAT) per month but there is no guarantee that this will be the level of spend going through this contract in the future.
