Description
North Northamptonshire was successful in securing funding for the Workplace Cardiovascular Disease Health Checks Pilot Grant. This funding is managed by the Office of Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID) on behalf of the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC). The grant will be provided pursuant to Section 31 of the Local Government Act 2003. Grant Scheme Application Appendix 1.
The aim of this funding is to enable local authorities to deliver CVD checks in Workplace settings in their local areas up until 31 March 2025 as part of this pilot. The pilot will gather evidence on the feasibility and impact of the Grant scheme. It will encourage employers to support people to stay well in work, by gathering and sharing learning on delivering CVD checks in the Workplaces.
The Pilot Grant offers advice on Workplace premises to help prevent the onset of CVD and help identify their risk of heart disease, stroke, kidney disease and diabetes. These will be given to eligible people who are not currently on a CVD register or being treated as at risk, aged between 40 and 74. It also supports individuals to manage and reduce behavioural risks and associated conditions through information and evidence-based risk reduction interventions.
The pilot aims to improve:
• Employees awareness around these health issues.
• Early detection in CVD and Diabetes.
• Flexibility around attendance of appointments
• Decrease the pressure in Primary care settings.
• Make Workplace Health Checks the norm with patients attending future HCs.
The North Northamptonshire Pilot Grant has funding of £200,000 available for up to 4500 Workplace Health Checks to be completed between all the selected providers.
The Tender questions consist of knock out Yes or No replies, please be aware of this when replying to the tender questions. If a provider selects "no" to any question, their application will not continue any further.
