Description
Land at Sorrel Way and Saxon Drive, Biggleswade - Marketing Agency required
Central Bedfordshire Council is seeking quotations for marketing agency services.
The Council owns the freehold of these two areas of land, which are shown edged red on the accompanying plans, and extend to 7.23 ha (Saxon Drive) and 1.4 ha (Sorrell Way). The land is held by the Council's Assets team. The Council is currently preparing for the submission of an outline planning application for residential development on the sites, with a specific requirement to provide an Extra Care Scheme on the Sorrell Way site (95 units), which would in turn satisfy significant affordable housing requirements across both sites, and the objective of the Council to promote such schemes. The Saxon Drive site would be predominantly market housing (currently projected at 230 units). The principle of this has been discussed with planning officers at the Council, and two separate, but linked applications will be required on the sites. Preparatory survey work has been completed, pre-application planning advice received, and a public exhibition was recently carried out.
The Saxon Drive land has been submitted within the Council's 'Call for Sites' process both in 2014 and 2016, whilst the Sorrell Way land falls inside the existing settlement envelope.

Target contract start/delivery date: Monday 27th March 2017 complete by 28th February 2018.
