Description
Cambridge City Council (CCC) and South Cambridgeshire District Council (SCDC) are seeking consultants to provide a Landscape Character Assessment for the Greater Cambridge area (defined as the combined area of Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire Districts). Detailed proposals are now invited from consultants.
This work will form part of the Councils' development plan making process in relation to Landscape Character Assessment and associated landscape sensitivities. It will also identify potential landscape enhancement and management opportunities that could be delivered outside of the planning system. The contractor must demonstrate in writing that they have no conflicts of interest in respect of work being sought that cannot be effectively mitigated.
It should be noted that as well as inviting tenders for a Landscape Character Assessment, the Councils are also procuring a Green Belt Review. It is anticipated that the Landscape Character Assessment for the Greater Cambridge area will, in part, inform the Green Belt Review work (see paragraph 33a). Bidders are asked to consider and explain how the two studies might best be carried out in tandem and identify any benefits of their being undertaken by the same consultant.
