Description
Hampshire County Council invites applications from suitably experienced organisations who wish to be considered for selection to tender for SBS Project Health Champion Training.
Hampshire County Council (The Council) is part of an EU-funded project called Step by Step (SBS). The aim of the project is to improve men's health and wellbeing and is focused on developing a new model of community health and wellbeing. The Council is seeking a Provider to deliver Health Champion Training involved in the SBS project.
The provider will develop a health champions training package and supporting training material e.g. presentations, handouts, in line with below.
The focus of Health Champion training will be on developing healthy conversation skills that men can use within their groups. There should be an emphasis on skills practice and ensuring men leave the training with confidence. Healthy conversations skills will be based the following principles;
o Bespoke to men, using language that engages men in health and emotional wellbeing and mental health
o Evidence-based and underpinned by theories of behaviour changes
o Informed by Making Every Contact Count (MECC) and Five Ways to Wellbeing
o Cover health and emotional wellbeing and mental health, with a recognition that one influences the other
o Focus on how skills can be used within a male-focused environment
Total contract value is up to ?30,000.
The Contract will commence on 15th June 2019 and will be for a period of 1 year and 6 months.
