Description

The purpose of the Council's Taxi Driver Awareness Training, Knowledge Test and Driving Standards Assessment is to:
•Train Applicants for Dual Driver Licences in the Council's conditions of licence.
•Train Applicants for Dual Driver Licences in the provisions of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 in relation to Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licences.
•Train Applicants for Dual Driver Licences in their responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010.
•Train Applicants for Dual Driver Licences in the awareness of Child Sexual Exploitation and "County Lines".
•Train Applicants in any other subject relating to Hackney Carriage/Private Hire driving which might from time to time arise.

The purpose of the Council's Taxi Driving Standards Assessment (practical driving test) is to :
•Ensure that Applicants for Dual Driver Licences can correctly answer two vehicle safety checks.
•Ensure that Applicants for Dual Driver Licences are assessed in Advanced Driving Techniques appropriate for a professional taxi driver.
