Description

Contract for the Provision of Living Skills Plus at Lancaster Farms 2021 - 2023 (+1 year extension option)
Duration: 2 + 1
Contract commencement: 20th July 2021
Overview: The aim of this provision is the reduction in repeat re-offending by the participants who complete the intervention. There will be several intermediate outcomes, which illustrate the three components of this provision: an accredited living skills programme, community living and follow-up support in the community once released. It is important to note that the community living part is not intended to be a Therapeutic Community (TC), but rather a supported living experience that shares elements of both a democratic and hierarchical TC. The accredited programme part is to be delivered to participants who are resident on the unit.
This provision should include a 'thinking skills / living skills' aspect, based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, which will deliver skills training in problem solving, impulse control and social skills. This should be an accredited offending behaviour programme lasting six months.
Intermediate outcomes: To provide 68 places (consisting of on-programme participants, peer mentors, graduates of the programme and new recruits awaiting the start of future programmes), and to facilitate 60 starts and 45 participants completing the intervention each year.
