Inspection Support
Tamar Crossings engineering team based at the bridge are responsible for managing and implementing planned, ad-hoc and special inspections at both the bridge and ferry sites. The service provider will be required to support these inspections - for example providing skilled engineering labour to assist with removal or installation of key structural elements, provide specialist on site equipment for inspection and testing or provision of specialist independent weld inspectors.

Maintenance works
Undertake a range of structural maintenance works as directed by the Client to structures, ferries, buildings or other items as required.

Repairs and rectification of defects
Undertake repairs at both the bridge and ferry sites including but not limited to bridge or ferry structures, bridge deck drainage, bridge parapet mesh, bridge walkways, other walkways, handrails or fences and other miscellaneous items as appropriate. These may include minor on site fabrication/welding, large/specific items that require workshop fabrication and site installation, provision and supervision of specialist subcontractors as required (e.g. concrete drilling/cutting/coring).

Provision of other special access requirements
Procure and provide a range of scaffolding, access towers, mobile elevated work platforms and confined space equipment (IPAF and PASMA required) , as may be required, to undertake inspections or maintenance activities at both the bridge and ferry sites.

General labour support
On occasions the Client will require general support for its own maintenance works, particularly at the ferry site, or to support other contractors undertaking works at either the bridge or ferry sites. For instance, this may include assisting other contractors working on the bridge structure or assisting with planned ferry chain replacement operations. In these circumstances the service provider will be instructed or directed by the Client but work under the supervision of the other contractor for the works.

Overnight, weekend or flexible working
On occasions the Client will require certain planned works to be carried out overnight or at the weekend in order to minimise the disruption to the bridge or ferry services. Additionally, on occasions, unplanned maintenance, support or other intervention is required and the Client requires that the contractor adopts a flexible approach in such circumstances when they occur.
