Description
The College of Science and Engineering, University of Derby are seeking to purchase a small area solar simulator for our new science laboratory.
Our anticipated budget is £40,000.00 which should include any fees for maintenance and servicing.
Requirement:
The solar simulator must be capable of providing a 1 sun power output with a spectral match covering a target area of 20 x 20 cm. The specifications for the solar simulator should adhere to the standards ASTM E927 / IEC 60904-9 / JIS C 8904-9 and have a class AAA rating.
Detailed Specifications:
· The solar simulator should be able to cover a target area of 20 x 20cm.
· The solar simulator should be capable of delivering a typical power output of 1000 watts per square meter over the working distance
· The recommended working distance between the solar simulator and the target area is 50 cm.
· The collimation angle of the solar simulator should be within +/-10 degrees.
· The solar simulator should meet the spectral match classification of A for AM1.5G
· The solar simulator should have a spatial non-uniformity classification of A over the target area.
· The solar simulator should have a temporal instability classification of A.
· The solar simulator should operate with either a single-phase power input of 220VAC or a 3-phase power input.
· The source of light fort the sun simulator should be from LED.
· The sun simulator should have an intensity adjustment range of 0 - 100%.
· The solar simulator should be capable of providing an intensity on the target area equivalent to 1 sun.
· The solar simulator should operate with either a single-phase power input of 220VAC or a 3-phase power input.
· The sun simulator should have a spectral range of 350 - 1500nm.
· The sun simulator should include a rigid frame to hold the unit above the target area.
Additional Features:
The supplier shall provide in appropriate technical documentation / literature to identify the functionality of the equipment offered. Ideally this should include examples of where the equipment offered has been used in a higher education and/or research establishment.
Suppliers will be required to provide comprehensive documentation, user manuals, support and training.
The supplier will propose an appropriate service package stating options between 2 and 5 years duration. As a minimum the service package will include parts and labour warranty. Calibration. Technical support (email / telephone) Breakdown cover / call out.
The supplier shall also indicate if any specific shelving or installation racking is required and the quote should also include delivery and installation charges. Please also indicate in your quote if the item can be installed via normal access routes.
It is anticipated that delivery will be required during September 2023.
