Description
NCC has a requirement to support homeless people in Northumberland and wishes to invite tenders to manage the council-owned temporary accommodation provision and low level support services to meet this need on the council's behalf.
The overarching aim of this service will be to:
• Manage and maintain the council-owned temporary accommodation properties on behalf of the council, ensuring they remain fit for purpose
• Increase access to accommodation and support available to homeless people.
• Increase the number of service users who have moved on in a planned way from temporary living arrangements
• Work closely with the Council's Homelessness & Housing Options Team to support the delivery of the Homeless Reduction Act requirements by timely and appropriate placement of people who are homeless, allocation of places and managed move on to permanent accommodation
• To assist in the delivery of the priorities within the Council Homelessness Strategy
The overall service will be split into three Lots:
Lot 1 Management of the Temporary Accommodation in the South East of the County - The Hawthorns, Ashington and Lamb House, East Cramlington. Please note that TUPE is likely to apply to this Lot.
Lot 2 Management of the Temporary Accommodation at Flats 32-36 Middle Street, Spittal, Berwick upon Tweed
Lot 3 Management of the Temporary Accommodation at Woodlands Lodge, Dene Park, Hexham
