Description
Birmingham City Council and Transport for West Midlands (West Midlands Combined Authority) require a supplier for the provision of communications and engagement services to support the regeneration in Perry Barr.
The Perry Barr area of Birmingham will undergo unprecedented regeneration of housing, transport, public realm and community facilities over the next three years, as we head towards the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, and for decades beyond. Historic multi-million-pound levels of public funding will be invested in this neighbourhood of north west Birmingham for the benefit of generations to come.
There is a need to develop an holistic, positive narrative for the redevelopments taking place in Perry Barr; to communicate this transformation strategically and effectively; and to genuinely engage with residents, businesses, community groups and other stakeholders in an effort for them to support and be part of the regeneration and opportunity.
Therefore, there is a need to develop and deliver a positive narrative for the regeneration of Perry Barr, clearly articulating the long-term legacy benefits, and engaging in a genuinely constructive dialogue with the residents and businesses of Perry Barr.
The success of the Commonwealth Games and the regeneration of Perry Barr is dependent upon the support of the people who live and work in the area and their ownership of the transformation on their doorstep. And it is the responsibility of the partners to set out the vision and benefits for not only the global multi-sport event but also the long-term regeneration legacy. It is an ability to do this successfully that will hopefully enable the people of Perry Barr to see beyond any short-term disruption during construction in the run-up to the Games, and around the Games themselves, and to look towards the transformation of Perry Barr for the next generation.
This contract will be for a period of up to six months commencing 1st June 2019.
