Description

NHS North Tyneside Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is seeking to procure a high quality and effective Referral Management Service for the population of North Tyneside.

The required service will receive referrals from General Practitioners within NHS North Tyneside CCG. The service will maintain a log of all referrals received and actions taken so that any individual referral can be tracked as required and data on referrals can be collated and processed.

A range of specialties will include: Rheumatology, Respiratory Medicine, Cardiology, Breast Surgery, Colorectal, Urology, Plastics, Vascular, Gastroenterology and Nephrology. The provider will be expected to be in a position to deliver additional specialties as required by the CCG with 4-weeks' notice.

All referrals will go through clinical triage by either an accredited GPSI (GP with Special Interest) or consultant to check that the relating referrals meet the clinical criteria and have been properly worked up in primary care to maximise referral quality and clinical appropriateness. The service provider will follow any criteria or guideline established by the CCG such as clinical pathways.

The contract on offer will be for a period of 1 year with effect from 01 October 2015 and will be a tariff based service with an anticipated initial activity level of approximately 12,500 per annum.
