Description

Reagents is part of the Red Cell Immunohaematology (RCI) function within the Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services Directorate of National Health Service Blood and Transplant (NHSBT). The Reagents department is located in Liverpool and produces a range of red cell immunohaematology reagents, as well as plasma and serum products and solutions containing proteolytic enzymes. These reagents are manufactured and decanted into 10.5ml and 3ml bottle using automated dispensing and capping machines. These products are then protectively packaged for onwards distribution. The bottles of Reagents are used on automated tested platforms which recognise the height and diameter of the bottles. The testing cannot be performed on these machines if the bottles do not meet the bottle height and diameter requirements of this specification. The caps are removed before this automated testing takes place.
