Description

Birmingham City University (the University) would like to procure the services of a provider who can support the University to develop, operate and grow an online distance learning course offer. Envisaged as a primarily taught postgraduate offer (in the first instance), the online distance learning offer may in due course include other levels of study.

The broad scope of the requirement to provide an online offering entails the following:
o Undertaking market research to inform online course selection;
o Managing marketing and student recruitment functions for online courses;
o Instructional Design, converting course materials into an appropriate format;
o Developing expertise in pedagogy and instructional design for online learning amongst selected University staff;
o Provision of a student support service;
o Project implementation support, working with the University to set up the required processes, resources and systems.

This procurement will be conducted under the 'Light Touch' Regime using an adapted procedure broadly following the principles of the competitive procedure with negotiation.
