Description

Public Health Funerals

Quotations are required for the provision of the Public Health Funerals scheme across Kirklees.

Kirklees Council wishes to appoint a funeral director to provide a cost effective single point of contact for dealing with Public Health cremations/burials within the district of Kirklees Council.

Provide a service which is cost effective in terms of dealing with deceased people with no family or means to effect cremation/burial.

Provide a service which ensures that the Councils duties under the Public Health Control of Diseases Act 1984 are fully met.
To ensure that although the in many cases the deceased have no family they are still treated with dignity.

The contract is for 3 years (with an option to extend for up to a further 2 years). In last 12 months the Council organised 15 Public Health Funerals. However the Council can make no guarantee and accepts no liability about the volume of service to be provided under this Contract.
