Description
- Purpose
The purpose of the Borehole Framework is to construct boreholes to house monitoring wells which will provide data for the Coal Authority to assist with our ongoing monitoring of mine water levels across the country, or the construction of abstraction wells suitable for supplying future Mine Water Treatment Schemes.
- Detail
To achieve the above, we require a competent and experienced contractor(s) to facilitate the advancement of Boreholes from depths of circa 60m to up to, and likely exceeding, 750m with completion diameters suitable to house and install a minimum monitoring well internal diameter of 100mm. All designs will be required to have a minimum life cycle guarantee of 20 years.
The contractor(s) will need to demonstrate their ability to follow end product specifications and demonstrate their expertise in their preferred methodology of advancement and construction.
- Location
The Boreholes will be constructed in a wide variety of settings across former collieries to in and around urban areas.
- Additional requests
It is expected that all Borehole contractors will have the support of suitable Geophysical Contractors to ensure minimal deviation occurs, while completion surveys of the borehole to finalise outer diameters, confirmation of workings and continuity of grout within the borehole.
