Request for Expressions of Interest in Provision of Hostel Accommodation and Associated Support for People who are Homeless in South Somerset

South Somerset District Council ("the Authority") is seeking to identify resources within the district that could provide accommodation and associated support for individuals who are homeless in South Somerset. The Authority wishes to identify and develop solutions with a suitable organisation to ensure that people who need accommodation and/or support are able to access it, including emergency accommodation if appropriate
:
Desired outcomes are to:
• Reduce homelessness in South Somerset
• Reduce the number of rough sleepers in South Somerset
• Reduce the number of repeat rough sleepers and long term 'entrenched' rough sleepers
• Reduce the number of repeat offenders leaving prison and accessing supported accommodation
• Ensure people leave supported accommodation in a planned and sustainable way and are assisted to access floating support if needed
• People gain the skills they need to live independently,
• Minimise unplanned or negative move-on's through effective engagement with other services

Mandatory requirements are
• Provision of a minimum 30 bed direct access hostel accommodation in Yeovil
• Provision of a minimum 10 emergency beds
• Provision of rough sleeper outreach service
• Provision of support for all customers tailored and suitable to their individual needs
The Authority would like to receive expressions of interest from organisations in the market that provide or will be able to provide a homeless hostel and housing related support services in South Somerset.
