Description

This notice is a call for competition for the provision of Incident Management Training, Exercising and Business Continuity Management.

The Environment Agency is a Category 1 Responder organisation (as defined within the Civil Contingencies Act 2004) we must meet our duties under the Act to prevent, plan for, respond to, or recover from a UK civil emergency.

Incident management forms an important and high profile part of the Environment Agency's strategy in particular with reference to protecting homes, people and wildlife from flooding and environmental incidents.

We respond to around 20,000 substantiated incidents (of which around 100 are classified "Category 1" - major) each year. Our arrangements are consistent with the government's integrated emergency management principles, which are also observed by other responders. As a category 1 responder, we have a legal obligation to assess the risk of, plan, and exercise for emergencies.

We have around 6,500 people in Incident Management roles, organised within 14 areas. These people play a vital role providing 24/7 response to flooding and environment incidents.

We have a capable, scalable and committed workforce ready to respond when incidents happen. This first class incident response capability is maintained through regular training and exercising.

The purpose of this framework is to appoint high quality suppliers who are able to provide a range of learning and development services and solutions to support the delivery of our corporate objectives and our role as a category 1 responder.
